My Childbirth ExperienceSubmitted by Brian on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 23:16Cooper is sleeping all bundled up next to me right now. When he finishes eating he stretches both arms above his head, as if he signaling a touch down. It is a full body stretch that includes toes. Then he falls limp as Nina burps him. Once burped, he passes out like a little drunk man after eating, but about 20-30 minutes in he will start dreaming. Every once in a while he makes these little “yips.” If you have ever heard a prairie dog or a marmot call it is kind of like that. Who knows what little dreams are happening in his head. He is just so sweet lying there, the emotions simply watching him sleep are sweeping, and my heart is full. Meeting Nana and Cooper's first bathSubmitted by Brian on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 21:46More Cooper PicturesSubmitted by Brian on Sat, 03/28/2009 - 22:10Thank you everyone for all your well wishes. It is really great to read all the comments and emails. We think he is pretty great too. I've posted a few more pictures from the last few days. Here's a few of my favorites. The full In the Hospital and Going Home album in under the "Baby!!" section in Photo albums. I'm trying to find time to keep the content coming, sorry if it is a little slow :-). Welcome to the World, CooperSubmitted by Brian on Wed, 03/25/2009 - 17:31Cooper Cindrich Gill was born today at 8:37 a.m. He's 7.8lbs, 19 inches and most importantly healthy and snoozing away after a big day of firsts. He's got his food source (a.k.a. Mom) all figured out, had his first bath, and is working on getting his head molded back into normal dimensions (good progress there!). Nina is healthy but tired. The real contractions kicked in at about 2 yesterday afternoon, so it was about 18 and a half hours of labor. There were a few complications along the way that never materialized into actuality, but were enough to keep the worry levels pretty high. Nina was a superstar and I am really proud of her. I've taken a few pictures. I will take more and some video later on. You can find them here. |
