Lemon-Rosemary Christmas Trees
Submitted by Brian on Sun, 12/07/2008 - 19:56
Summary
DescriptionThese are an interesting twist on the classic short bread cookie. The rosemary gives and evergreen hint to the cookies, which works well with a christmas tree shaped cookie cutter. Ingredients
InstructionsIn a bowl whisk the flour and salt. In a mixer cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in the lemon zest and rosemary. Mix in the egg (but not the egg white) and vanilla. Gradually add the flour mixture until the dough just forms. Do not over mix. Preheat the oven to 350F. Roll out the dough and cut out shapes of your choosing (recipe calls for tree shapes). Line cookie sheets with parchment. Bake until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool the cookies on racks. Make the frosting by whisking together remaining ingredients. Adjust the sugar to achieve the desired consistency. Smooth, but not drippy. Decorate cookies with icing and sprinkles.
