Cooper's First Hike, Pine Creek Falls, MontanaSubmitted by Brian on Tue, 08/25/2009 - 14:29Cooper went on his first hike on Sunday. It is a short 2 mile round trip to Pine Creek Falls. The trail goes on another 4 miles and 3500 verticle feet to Twin Lakes, a reportedly very dramatic cirque high in the Absaroka Mountains. We will save that for when he is a little older. More pics here. Bathroom is Gone!Submitted by Brian on Tue, 08/25/2009 - 11:18We've gotten pictures from Jesse and Kelly and our contractor from the first week of work. The demolition is done, and the structural joists are in place. This week framing is starting in ernest. It is pretty shocking to see the pictures of the house. It is also exciting to think we may have a framed and roofed new room by the time we get back. I've also added some of the plans for the finished bathroom. Full album for week 1 demolition is here and the full album for the plans is here. P.S. Happy Birthday Jesse!
Montana Week 1Submitted by Brian on Sun, 08/23/2009 - 10:02Things are nice and slow after the last several weeks. Montana is beautiful and everyone seems real content, even the Toonces. A few of the highlights are below; a complete album is here. On the Road AgainSubmitted by Brian on Thu, 08/20/2009 - 11:32"I'm just a travelin' man, Your love is my rest by John Haitt We left Seattle on Tuesday morning amid the crashing of lathe and plaster above our heads. Dust and insulation was flying and it was definitely time to get out of the house for a bit. We loaded the car full, new luggage rack included and left seattle to a cacophony of meowing and crying. The toonces soon settled down into life on the road, but the boy was less agreeable. After a weeks of travel on planes, 3 hour time zone changes, meeting more people that wanted to see him then he knew existed and a suspected set of teeth just starting to grow in, I think a little irritation at being plopped back in a car seat again was understandable. House Construction Begins!Submitted by Brian on Thu, 08/20/2009 - 10:58Note the toilet in the back yard: truly the mark of a quality establishment. More pics here.
